Hmm... I don't think that I quite agree with that blog post.
The statement from Ecma sounds to me like they're genuinely
working on improving some of the most repulsive aspects of
the OOXML spec.

I don't think that it's fair to call that a "smoke screen".

To me it looks like people trying to do their job in a
reasonable way.

Of course, even with those changes OOXML will still be far
from being a reasonable standard.

We should really get started with producing the planned
"problem report" document that will make clear what the main
issues are.
