Well if there wasn't the fact that "ISO" is already (pretty much
unavoidably) part of OpenISO.org's name, I'd tend to agree with you
on this point.

However, as things are, I'm pretty sure that OpenISO.org should adopt
a logo which in no way hints at any of the specific elements of ISO's
corporate identity.

How about something simple based on just the letters "OI", e.g. as in
http://OpenISO.org/logo.png ?
